As-salāmu ʿalaykum wa-raḥmatu llāhi wa-barakātuhu,
The London Muslim Mosque is collaborating with Islamic Relief to hold a relief fundraiser for the major earthquake that hit northern Pakistan. The fundraiser will be held during Friday prayer, on September 27, 2019. The quake's epicenter was close to the city of Mirpur, in Pakistan-administered Kashmir. The latest reports, verified by Islamic Relief’s team on the ground indicate:
At least 30 fatalities and more than 300 people injured.
Hundreds of homes have been destroyed, and dozens of towns and villages are affected.
Thousands of people have sought emergency shelter.
Transportation routes have been affected, with three major bridges and the main road into the area being heavily damaged.
As with all disaster zones, it is likely that these initial numbers will increase over the coming days. We request your du’a for those affected, and to support our efforts by participating in tomorrow’s fundraiser. Alternatively, you can also donate online by clicking here.
Jazākoum Allāhu Khayran.
